Turkey Brining

Easy Turkey Brining Recipe

If you want juicy, delicious turkey, then you have to try this easy turkey brining recipe.  We have been brining our turkeys since 2013 and now we can’t imagine cooking a turkey without brining it first.

The brine solution adds moisture to the turkey while the spices enhance its natural flavors.  Is it worth the time to brine your turkey?  Absolutely!  It only takes about 1/2 hour to prepare the brine and then just let it sit overnight, refrigerated, to work its magic.

We also want to share our “stuffed roast turkey recipe” with you.  Together they make a complete package when it comes to making the most delicious and juicy turkey.  We encourage you to give them a try.  We believe you’ll join us in brining all your turkeys in the future.

Instructions
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in a pot and heat to dissolve sugar. Add ice cubes to cool.

  2. Place thawed turkey in a non-scented, 13-gallon trash bag inside a LARGE pot (we use a 28-quart turkey fryer).  Be sure to remove the giblets too.

  3. Pour cooled brine over turkey. Add enough water to cover turkey.

  4. Close bag over turkey and squeeze out excess air. Seal bag with a twist tie.  This allows you to add less water in the previous step.

  5. Let sit overnight in a refrigerator.
  6. Next day remove from the kettle, thoroughly drain, and pat dry. No need to rinse.
  7. Cook the turkey normally using your favorite recipe.
